Coring is a method to withdraw hardened concrete; this concrete is used in samples preparation for different kind of tests. Withdrawal consists of cylindrical shape sample extraction from under construction structures. Coring is performed using a special machine called coring machine, provided with a tool that allows piercing the wet concrete and retaining the cut material. The sample extracting operations must be carried out so as not to harm the stability of the structure. Subsequently, samples are obtained from the extracted cores to perform various kinds of test:
- Compressive strength;
- Elastic modulus value;
- Density.
